What you need to apply

One UCAS application: you choose up to five courses in a single application, and the personal statement has to work for all of them at once.

Personal statement: this single piece of writing is the main way UK admissions tutors judge your motivation, since there is no interview for most subjects.

Home vs. international fee status: as an EU citizen without UK residency you are usually classed as an international student for fees, a different number from the domestic ('home') rate.

Early deadline for Oxford, Cambridge and medicine: these choices close months before the general UCAS deadline, so they set your whole timeline if any of them is on your list.

What it costs to live there

Fees for international students vary enormously by university and subject, so check the specific course rather than assuming a national number — medicine and Oxbridge sit well above the average. London is the most expensive city by far; a room in shared accommodation runs from around 700 € to over 1,200 € a month, while cities like Manchester or Leeds cost noticeably less. Student visa rules limit paid work to 20 hours a week during term time, which is worth planning your budget around.
