What you need to apply
Recognised diploma: ETH Zürich expects mathematics, a natural science and a language to have been taught in your last two school years and examined at the Matura, with an average of at least 70% of the top grade, plus four further subjects such as physics, informatics or history in the last three years.
German at C1: bachelor's programmes at ETH are taught in German, so you need Goethe C1, TestDaF with 4 in every section, telc C1 Hochschule or DSH-2.
Confirmed place in Bulgaria: you need proof that an accredited Bulgarian university has admitted you to the same subject. It can be uploaded after you apply.
Deadline and entrance exam: applications with a foreign diploma close on 31 March for the autumn start. If your diploma falls short, a reduced entrance exam in mathematics, biology, chemistry and physics (CHF 550) is the other way in.

What it costs to live there
Tuition at Swiss public universities is moderate; living there is not. Switzerland, and Zurich in particular, is among the most expensive places to live in Europe. Rent and the mandatory health insurance are the two big items, and a room is hard to find at short notice. Plan the budget well before you apply, not after the admission letter arrives.
