What you need to apply
Optagelse.dk application: every Danish bachelor's programme is applied for through this one national portal, with a single deadline of 15 March for EU applicants.
English test or exemption: most English-taught programmes ask for IELTS or TOEFL unless your prior schooling was substantially in English, which some Bulgarian bilingual tracks qualify for.
Quota 1 or quota 2: your Bulgarian average is converted to the Danish scale and can get you in through quota 1; if it falls short, you are assessed in quota 2 on the whole application.
Legalised transcripts: your diploma and transcript need an official translation and, depending on the university, a stamp confirming they are true copies.

What it costs to live there
Tuition is free for EU citizens, so your budget is almost entirely rent and daily costs. Copenhagen is expensive — a room easily runs 600 € to 900 € a month — while smaller cities like Odense or Aalborg cost noticeably less. Once you work a minimum number of hours alongside your studies, you can qualify for the SU state grant, which is worth applying for as soon as you are eligible.
