Deadlines
Applications go through the Danish central system Optagelse.dk. For applicants with a Bulgarian or other foreign diploma the dates are:
- 15 March, 12:00 noon (Danish time) – application deadline for quota 1 and quota 2. The 5 July quota 1 deadline you may see on programme pages applies only to applicants with a Danish diploma.
- 5 July, 12:00 noon – by this date you must meet all admission requirements, including the Danish language test, and upload your documents.
- 15 August – latest date for uploading your final diploma, but only if you submit a letter from your school confirming that you will sit your exams before 5 July and receive the diploma later.
- 28 July – you find out whether you have been admitted.
Requirements when applying from Bulgaria
Danish: because all bachelor's programmes are in Danish, you need academic-level Danish. For applicants with a foreign diploma this usually means passing Studieprøven i dansk som andetsprog with at least 02 in each of the 3 parts of the exam. For Medicine and Dentistry the minimum is 7 in each part. An alternative is passing a supplementary Danish A course. In practice this means learning Danish to a high level before you apply.
Quota 1 and quota 2:
- Quota 1 – based only on your grade point average converted to the Danish scale. A Bulgarian diploma qualifies for quota 1 if the converted average is at least 6.0; with 5.9 or less you can only apply in quota 2.
- Quota 2 – a separate quota 2 test (taken in Danish, you register for it in March) and, if you pass, an oral or written interview in Danish, Norwegian or Swedish.
Subjects: each programme has its own subject requirements at Danish levels A, B or C. The university checks whether the subjects on your Bulgarian diploma are equivalent, so you upload transcripts showing the levels and, in some cases, the number of hours taught.
Bachelor's programmes in English
